Transplant Donors needed
Hey guys, have a couple of things to tell you about today. The most important to me is a post I saw on our local yard sale site. It is a plea for a kidney, but it reminds us how important it is for organs donors all over. Here is the post:
My Uncle Jeff is in need this is the second time we have had to do a mass message over the internet I was his first donor when i just turned 20 I was denied for me being anemic. My aunt wrote this up please help if you can
My awesome husband of 16 years and father to our 13 yr old son and 9 yr old daughter is in need of a kidney transplant. Jeff was diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy, a kidney disease, when he was 17. While most people with this disease can control it with methods such as medication, Jeff's level of this disease causes irreversible scar tissue to form in his kidneys. We knew from the beginning that this would come one day, but hoped and prayed that it wouldn't come this fast.
Jeff is only 37 years old and has been on dialysis since January of 2010. At first he did Hemodialysis and it was awful! He couldn't stand having to go to the clinic and spend 3-4 hours 3 times a week in there looking at blood. And it was quite depressing to be so young in there with almost everyone else being close to retirement age, if not older.
Jeff works for a company he loves, he loves what he does for a living and the people he works for and with. He also loves getting out there and seeing his customers. (He's a local truck driver who also does morning office work and dock work.) He could NOT do this on Hemodialysis. He started Peritoneal Dialysis in March. While this form of dialysis is something he can do at home and doesn't use the blood to filter toxins and excess fluid from the body, it is still very restricting to a 37 year old man who lives an active lifestyle and loves to work and play with his kids. Jeff has been working again since starting PD, but has to do 1-2 exchanges during his workday as well as being much more careful and not lifting as much. However, family time is REALLY what has been affected. Our kids play sports, have school programs and other activities in the evenings Jeff has to miss to do his dialysis. We are also a family who LOVES the water! Where we live, the lake's are a BIG deal and we LOVE it! Boating, fishing, camping and, of course, SWIMMING! This is something Jeff cannot do. Swimming is a no-no. Too much risk of infection.
Jeff has to be careful around the kids, too. No rough-housing with our teenager anymore because he has to be careful of his catheter. And trust me, they were good at wrestling around here and making me scared they were going to break something! : ) I know they miss that.
Thirty minutes, four times a day. That is how often Jeff does dialysis. And that is EVERY day. No days off and no skipping an exchange. EVER. While this could certainly sustain him for many years, it is NOT ideal. A kidney transplant would give Jeff his life back. He would have less limits on diet, activities, work, etc. It would be like regaining his freedom. And he could just be 'Dad' again. Not 'Dad on dialysis'.
We are asking ANYONE who is healthy both physically and mentally if they would be willing to be tested to see if they are a match to become a kidney donor for Jeff. Besides being physically and mentally healthy, you cannot have ever used iv drugs. No history of diabetes, high blood pressure for sure. Another thing to consider is finance. While OUR insurance actually pays for the donors part as well as Jeff's, what about the time off work it will require? While some testing (including the initial bloodwork) can be done through your local physician or clinic, some tests will be done through the transplant center. That means St. Louis or Kansas City and may require you to miss a day. Recovery after surgery is something potential donors must especially consider. The average recovery time after surgery is 4-6 weeks - some less, some more. It also depends on what kind of work you do. Is it physically demanding? Do you not have to move around a lot? There are many things to think about before deciding to become a donor. While we welcome anyone who is willing to be tested, we want you to have all the facts first. I have more information I can give you and here are some websites you might look at: www.kidney.org , http://som.missouri.edu/mokp/
Jeff is on the transplant list, but it can take an average of 3 years to get a kidney this way. That's why we're doing this. We found a donor once using this method. Unforetunately, through the testing process, we found out she was not eligible. Like I said, here we go again. But like Jeff said, it just wasn't meant to be. Everything happens for a reason.
If you are considering becoming a donor, PLEASE do some research and soul searching first. The internet can provide you with a lot of information. I have some, too. The next step is to call the transplant center for more information. The Barnes Transplant # is 1-800-633-9906 or 314-362-5365 option 2. My phone number is 417-840-2039.
Thank you for reading this, considering it and passing it on to others who may be willing to be tested.
I would love it if any of you could to please get tested to see if you can save a life.
My next thing is a bit of a rant. That so called church is at it again. They are going to protest Elizabeth Edwards funeral, with signs saying "God Hates Elizabeth Edwards". I can't even begin to tell you how heated up this has got me. These are the same people who go to military funerals holding signs saying "Thank God for Dead Soldiers". I don't care what your religion, political or any other views are, funerals are not the place for that mess.
If you have an issue with something in this country, yes we have the freedom of speech to be able to say we don't agree, but this takes it to a new low. I am anti-violence, but I would consider making an exception in this case, which is why my butt isn't going near them.
I have a brother-in-law who is a marine, and if anything happened to him and they tried this, with his three young children grieving their father, I believe I would be forced to use violence.
This is a horrible tacky way to get publicity. They need to seek counciling and the sooner the better, especially since they bring their young children to these protest when there is a very high probability of fighting. Where is the DSS at now? This should be investigated to see if it is a safe enviroment for these children, which I know it is not.
Okay sorry for that. Had to get it all out.
I know the last part is broken up and terrible writing skill, but it is my rant style. Okay, I am out. Time to look for an agent still. Have a great one!

And the search is on
Hello again all! My book is complete, yay!!! I have to find an agent, booo. I swear I would rather write the next book than do this, but that is part of the whole process. So now my self-doubting personality has to pull itself together and try to work up enough self confidence to try to get someone willing to to sell my books to a publisher. Everyone says go out there and toot your own horn. Huh, easier said than done. Yes, my book has done really well on public bookshelf, and I am extremely thrilled about that, but if you are like me and have self-esteem issues, you make excuses for why it may be doing well. It is a small website, it is new, people are trying to be nice, you know all the normal things.
But I know I have to do this, so I am working on my query letter now. I have offered to pay my hubby to find me an agent, but he pointed out the obvious fact that we share all the money that comes into the house, so that was a failure. lol
Just a little note if you are an agent, call me!!! I am easy to work with, no big ego tripping with me :) Just playing.
Okay now that I have whined, what is going on with you guys? Besides the whole agent thing, I have been baking, cleaning the house and otherwise getting everything ready for Christmas. It is hard to really get in the spirit because the weather hasn't been right, but I am going to have the kids help me get the tree setup this weekend.
B, my 11 year old just came home from school and told me he is the student of the month!!!! Yay, I am so proud. He had an ice cream party today and they sent him home super hyper. The way he is bouncing around, I should send him out and make him do a few laps so he will settle down.
Well,I am going to go back to work on the query letter and hope for the best.
You guy take care of yourself. Talk to you later.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Hello all. I just wanted to pop up here for a few minutes to say Happy Thanksgiving to all.
I also wanted to say a couple of things. Today is the day we are to look back and see all the things we are thankful for in this life. I realize I have a lot to be thankful for. I am doing something I love to do, writing. I began playing a game online just to kill some time and relax. That lead me to meet some wonderful new people and make some great friends. I have an awesome husband who has been there for me through all the worries and doubts I had about myself. I have three wonderful children who I love more than life. I may not have a huge bank account, but I am rich in so many more important ways.
I would love for each of you to think about not the things you have and the dollar values, but think about the people in your life. Things can be replaced, the people who make up your life cannot. Please think about that today as you tear into your meal.
Okay, I have to go. I am cooking for my family right now. Have a great one all.
By the way, I am thankful for all you guys, too. Thank you for listening to my babbles and rants.

Amazon.com
Hello again. Yes I am still alive. I know it has been so long you were probably wondering. lol. I haven't been playing Warcraft lately, I have really cracked down on my writing. Good news is, I am almost done with the rewrites and editing for errors. I hope to have everything ready to start shopping it around by Thanksgiving.
On the other hand, my book Follow Your Heart, is now available on Amazon.com as a Kindle book. I guess that is a good thing.
My youngest, M, is now 4 years old!!! She is growing so quickly. She is so smart though, it is scary.
I had to call my son's school on Wednesday. He came home Tuesday and had a lump the size of a baseball on the back of his head. He said a kid jumped on him in gym class and knocked him to the floor. This same child then did the same with another student, but sent this one face first. The second child is a bit overweight and his stomach saved his face, but the child doing the pushing didn't get in trouble. The gym teacher says she didn't see anything. I was so mad, I was ready to start ripping some people to shreds. The principle said he would take care of it, then my son said he got a lecture because I called!!! That is taking care of it?
Of course, I called the school board, and was told they were busy and would call me back. I never got the call, and I have been calling them back ever since.
Yesterday, he came home and aid the same child did it again, but this time it was in the hallway. The principal saw it and even though he knew this child has a history of this, all he said was be careful. Wow, what a joke. My hubby swears when we move away, the school board is going to throw a party because they won't have to hear me anymore. LOL
Okay guys, I am out for a bit. You guys enjoy life, and I will try to write more soon.
had to edit to add a link to the book. I have problem finding it, so if you want to buy the book for Kindle, here is the link Follow Your Heart.

World Of Warcraft is changing everything
Hey again all. Well, no locusts yet, so it looks like we are good, for now. :)
But on the other hand, my favorite game ever is down for maintenance today, and when it comes up around five today, everything will be different. A new patch is going into effect today, and with it some of the changes that are going to come with the expansion are going to take effect. They finally announced the release date for the expansion WOW: Cataclysm of December 7th, 2010. Since it is a online multiplayer game, they know not everyone is going to be grabbing it the day it releases, so they are having everyone download a over 4 gig patch that will implement some of the upcoming content.
Major changes are in the works, for all classes, professions, races, just everything. I am going to have to relearn how to play my characters, so it should be loads of fun. I will not go into the whole thing here, because I know most of you probably don't play, so you don't care, but as I have said before, if you ever decide you want to try it, drop me a line and we can get you on a trial account and I will get you in the guild I am in and I think you might enjoy it.
My guild is supposed to be doing a raid tomorrow, but now I am not sure if we will be able to or not, this is going to be a learning curve on the same toons they have been playing for months or even years, so we might have to put the raid off so we can all figure out what we are doing again. lol
I am writing on my book still, I got some great feedback, so I am implementing the ideas and will hopefully get it done right. I really enjoy writing and love hearing from the readers, it helps alot to hear what other people think. I mean, I write because I enjoy it and it gives me a creative outlet, but you guys read it so I think it should represent both of our ideas.
Well, I am going to go, I am using the down time of the game to write as much as possible, so I will see you again soon.

Fire and Rain
Hey guys! Sorry for the delay, but a lot has been going on here. Let me first say that last Saturday, we were under drought conditions and therefore a burn ban. We live in the middle of nowhere, so a lot of people burn there garbage. Saturday, my son looks out the front door and says "Mom, there is smoke over there, something is on fire." I thought that someone was burning off their field for the winter, not a bright move in these conditions, being so dry and a bit of a wind, but I wasn't worried. Then I looked out the window and it was that dark thick smoke. Then I heard the fire trucks. Somebody down the road was burning trash and the fire jumped out and began burning everything. The fire fighters told me to have some things ready in case the fire jumped the road. Our neighbors across the street almost lost everything. The fire came within 50 yards of their house. Thanks to the fire fighters no one was hurt and no one is homeless. It was very bad though. It took out a lot of fields and woods. I can't say enough about how great the fire fighters were, most of them volunteers. We had at least five different towns and cities here fighting the fire.
They get the fire under control, and everyone starts praying for rain. Maybe too many prayed for rain... by Wednesday afternoon, schools were closed, roads were flooded, and I now have a pond in my back yard that wasn't there when we moved in. It was horrid. The kids got out of school at 11:30 on Wednesday and have not gone back yet. They are going tomorrow though, if I have to get them there in a boat. LOL My heart goes out to all who were displaced by the storm and the families of the people who lost their lives in car accidents during this time.
So, we been through fire and rain, isn't the next one locusts? I better put Terminex on speed dial. LOL. Well, I am out for now, I hope this week is a little less eventful. You guys stay safe.

New book
Hey again. How is everyone? I am doing well, I am writing this to ask for some volunteers. I want to see if I can get a few of you to read the first say ten chapters of my next book and give me some feedback. I will warn you, it is still a work in progress, so it hasn't been perfected yet. I am just needing a few opinions on how it sounds so far. If you would be interested, leave a comment or drop me an email to candia75@gmail.com and I will email it to you. Thank you in advance for your help.
Now with that out of the way, did you hear about the newest hurricane? This one is pretty strong and they are hoping it won't hit us. I hope it doesn't hit anyone, it seems like it would cause major damage.
Football is back, yay, and the Giants won their first game against the Panthers. I loved it.Cowboys lost, it was a good day. lol.
I am egerly anticipating the release of the newest expansion for World of Warcraft. It should be soon, because last week they had realm maintance and when it came back, there were new quests that led into the storyline for the expansion. Latest rumor is it will come out on November 2, but no official word yet.
Not much to say really. Happy 26th b-day to my little sister Elizabeth. Also Happy 1st b-day to her son A and Happy 2nd b-bay to her son D. All three around the same time.
See you guys later.

Labor Day Weelend
Come on, pull up a chair. It is such a nice day out I decided we might as well cookout. Too hot to cook inside. As I am typing this sitting out here on the back deck, I can smell the steaks cooking. We are having steaks, hamburgers and hot dogs. The little one insists on hot dogs. I also have corn on the cob and potatoes. It should be a good meal. The kids are throwing a football around, it almost seems like we are are a nice sweet little family. Yeah right. S is throwing the ball to aim for B's head and they are argueing rather or not it is a kick off or a punt. Fun times. I am starting to get bored being in this area, which means soon I am going to be looking to other areas to move to. I kinda would like to move out west, but the hubby and I are going to have to talk about it. I want somewhere with a good school system, no uniforms, low crime rates, no snow, a nice, family friendly place. If I ever find this utopia, I will be sure to let you know.
Did I tell you S has a new boyfriend? It is so icky. They are always on the phone together. He has finally learned though. At first he would call and ask if my daughter could talk. I would tell him yes, and then wait for him to ask to speak with her. He finally started getting the hint. It is one thing to ask if she is free to talk, another to ask to speak to her. I love torturing the kid.
Well, I am going to go for now, food is needing my attention. Happy Labor Day.
Hurricane is over
Hello again. I promised to update you guys on how we all fared through the hurricane. Well, I am not typing this from a row boat, so we are good. lol. Actually, it wasn't bad, a bit of wind, some rain, but overall, we were lucky. The Outer Banks areas had flooding and beach erosion, but nothing major.
So, now that the threat from that is over, everything is back to normal, or as normal as it can get around here. I am currently looking for an agent to shop my book around. I have finished the writing of it, and my sister volunteered (Well, was volunteered, she is ex-marine, so it is the same thing) to do editing for me. I can't do it. I look back through the book and decide I should make changes, then redo the editing and make more changes and by the time I am done I have done 5,000 rewrites and am back to the original. lol.
I am hoping this book sells. But even if it doesn't, I started writing because I enjoy doing it. If I make a trillion dollars from writing, cool. If I never make a penny, cool. I still enjoy doing it and will continue to write. And please do not send me emails telling me that writers do not make that much, I know. I was exaggerating.
Not much else to say right now. I guess I will go and maybe play a game or some thing. You guys have a great night.

Hurricane is coming!!!!
Hello all. Well, I live in coastal eastern North Carolina and Earl is heading this way. We are not going to be evacuated but some of the islands are under mandatory evacuation. We are hearing that we are mostly going to get some heavy winds and hopefully a bit of rain. We need the rain. Of course everyone is watching and hoping it keeps on its current track where it doesn't actually make landfall. But no worries, we are far enough inland we are going to get hit too badly. I feel sorry for those people who have to leave almost everything and not knowing if they will have anything to come back to. It is all just posessions, but some of those people have worked hard all their lives to be able to have those things and to have to face losing it all in one day. I will update you guys on Sunday after all this should be over to tell you what happened.
On to a lighter subject. I owe an apology to the people who have left comments for me. I found out for some reason my e-mails responding to you was not getting there. I am so sorry, I am not ignoring you at all. I don't know exactly what the problem is, but I will start answering any questions anyone has directly on here. That way I know you are being answered.
I really don't have that much more to say tonight, so I will let you go for now. Everyone who lives out here, I wish you well, and hope you make it through this mess. Night all.

Hello, I'm back
Hey guys, I know, I am practically a stranger now aren't I? I just seem to get so busy with everything else and lose track. I swear I am going to try to be better at this. :) The kids are back in school now. Although I am not to thrilled with B's school. The school has one teacher for each grade, K-6, no art program and not really a music program. That is bad enough in my opinion, but they had some extra money this year, so guess what brilliance they came up with? An art program? No. More funding for the teacher's to help with classroom supplies? No. They, in their infinite wisdom decided it was more important to get three fish ponds dug out and filled with fish. Really. I couldn't believe it when my son told me. Then, they aren't getting the agendas this year that are like day planners that the teachers send home their homework assignments in and use to communicate with parents a lot because they don't have the money for them. Now, see why I am a little peeved at them?
S is in middle school, same school district of course. They will not be bringing books home this year because there isn't enough books. I mean really, you have to be kidding me. But they do have enough for every student to have an IPOD. Wow, I am really considering home school.
What does it really take to figure out this is not right? Kids need textbooks, not music players. This is the first week of school and they are already planning a field trip that is going to cost $30 per student, on top of the $15 classroom fees that have to be paid. Some families can not afford it and it is to the point of stupid. I swear I am to the point of running for school board or something like that.
Okay, there is my rant. Sorry for that, it just gets me so worked up. I have to get it out before I end up going to the PTA meeting and telling them all off, but after getting their uniforms, school supplies and paying all the classroom fees, I don't have the money for bail. lol
Now tell me how you have been. I really enjoy hearing from all of you.
I am of course still playing World of Warcraft and loving it. I love the guild I am in. We even have a webpage now, www.gnomehaters.guildlaunch.com you are more than welcome to come on there. We have a lot of fun on there.
S has a new boyfriend at school. He is still alive so he hasn't annoyed me too badly yet. LOL He plays the WOW game and got one of the guys to invite him into our guild, so when they aren't on the phone, he is talking on there to us. He has not learned proper boyfriend behavior yet. He is dating my daughter, I do not want to see or hear him ever. He is not taking her out, she cannot date till she is at least 16, (her father says till she is 50, but I think he will be a little more lenient.) so I am never going to meet the boy.
Well, I guess I will go for now, as always, more work to be done. Hope you guys have a great night. See ya soon, hopefully.

Hello again
Hi again everyone out there. As usual, I haven't written in a while. Life just seems to pass me by at times. I am working on some revisions for the new book, I decided I needed to change a few things, so I am working on that and hope to be sending it to a publisher soon. I am still playing my game. I started a new charecter on there. She is a priest healer, I just got kinda bored with the other one for now.
The kids are doing great. We have been telling S that if she read Piers Anthony's Incarnations of Immortality series she would love it, but she always argued with us. The other day she finally sat down and read the first book called On A Pale Horse and of course she loved it. Why can't kids just listen to us? Life would be so much easier then. Now she is going to read the next one. If you have not read these books, grab one, it is really a great series done by an author I admire.
M is progressing with her learning. She is working on reading still, but she is getting much better at sounding out words. She is also working on writing her numbers. She can be so sweet at times, like when she wants to cuddle with me on the couch to watch tv. But she can also be downright bossy at other times. She will tell you she is the boss and the rest of us are peons that have to obey her.
B is reading another Piers Anthony series called Zanth. If you like puns, you will love this series. It is a good read for many ages. He likes it because it can be goofy in spots. I told him that if he didn't start reading more I was going to make him read War and Peace cover to cover before school begins. He didn't like that idea too much.
Thanks to everyone for all your comments on here and on the book website. I now have over 500 votes on the book and staying at a high average.
Iam going to go for now, it is starting to get late, and I guess I do need to get some sleep or I will look like I am packing the bags under my eyes for a month long trip. Stay safe all.

Birthdays, hot weather, playing games
Hello again. How is life? Mine is going good. Yesterday was my birthday. I refuse to say the actual age, because I am getting old. When I got up yesterday, in my kitchen was a sign that said Happy Birthday, Candia. from your loving father. The problem was it was attached to a walker. I thanked him by threatening to beat him with it. Then I told the kids I did not need the walker, I could walk by myself and my ankle gave on me. I went down like a stone. My daughter said my ankle looked like it was made of rubber. Fortunatly, it was just a sprain, so now it all wrapped up. Hurts, but I will live.
I went on the game yesterday, and I must say I am in the greatest guild ever. My hubby put up an announcement on the guild message that it was my b-day, so we had a lockbox opening party at the bank, and one of the guys sent me a cobra companion and flowers. My husband gave me three new companions and soap on a rope in the game. It was a fun day.
I am still typing away on the book. I have a bit of writer's block though. I will get through it, it is just annoying. I want to get this one done, then I can get the other two in the series done and get them published.
My first book is on Publicbookshelf still. I am so thrilled, it is still the weeks number one book. That makes me so happy... thanks to everyone who has read it.
Now, I want to here from you guys. Tell me your thoughts, opinions, views, just anything. Tell me about your lives, I would love to hear from you. You read me babble on here, now you can babble back. If you have a question about something, let me know and I will try to find it for you.
Well, I am going to go for now, I will try to write some more on my book, and I have to play. So, enjoy your day.

WOW, Guilds
Hey again, we haven't talked in a while. How is life? Good I hope. I have been having a great time. I am still playing World of Warcraft, constantly, and we started a guild. It is Gnome Haters of America. We are just a group of people who like to talk to each other and have fun. I don't think we can really be called a raid guild, because we haven't done one yet. We might be a leveling guild, cause some of the guys will help with leveling. We just talk mostly and have fun. If you play on Baelgun server and see one of us say hi. If you want to join, just ask.
S an B have been playing. They have fun with it too. M, the youngest, wants to play, so I told her when she can read everything in the game she could play. Now she asks everyone to help her learn to read so she can play. It is so cute. We all are working with her on it.
The new movie in the Twilight saga comes out today. S wants to go see it, but I am not going to fight the crowds. We will make sure she gets to see it though.
Well, I am going to go for now. WOW is calling. I will see you soon. I mean it this time. I am going to start making more time for this and for my books. One is almost done and I have the second one all ready to write.
My heart goes out to the poor people in the gulf. First the oil spill now the hurricane. Please try to stay safe. We are all thinking about you.
One last thing, Jeremy, if you read this, give us a call. It has been a while and I just wanted to make sure you are okay.

Hey again. How is life? I know, I know. I get caught up in everything else and forget to write. Forty lashes with a wet noodle to me. Well, school is out now, both the kids passed. Yea!!! I am working hard on my next book, it is going to be the first book of a trilogy I am writing. Maybe I can post a sample on here. Thank You all who have read and voted for my book on Publicbookshelf.com. Thanks to you guys my book has been #1 most popular for six weeks now. I hope everyone is enjoying it.
S is working on her book for teens. She wants me to help her this summer and get it finished to see if she can get it published. Her and B played World of Warcraft today for a couple hours. She is an undead rogue and he is a Tauren Druid. They loved it.
I am still totally addicted to that game. It is so much fun. If you want to play, leave me a comment and we can get you set up with a trial account. It is free, you don't even have to buy the game for the trial. I am not even a gamer type, but I love this game. For all of you who play already, I have heard some whispers that the next expansion is going to drop on November first, so if Blizzard holds true to what it normally does when a new expansion comes out, be ready for all hell to break loose.
Okay, now back to other stuff, I live by a marine base and weird stuff happens at times with all the guys being stupid. I think one of the saddest/funniest things happened last night. This Gunney and a woman had a motorcycle crash. That is the sad part, now the funny part. According to reports from the police, they were naked when they crashed. The guy also was cited for DWI, no insurance, and no helmet. The man has a broken neck, I am sorry for him on that, and the woman suffered a broken leg. You have to admit though, it is funny. I love to ride, but I would never have the guts to ride naked, plus the fact that it would probably cause other motorists to be sick and wreck. LOL.
I guess I am going to sign off for now, I have to get back to work on my book. You have a great night, see ya soon.

Hi, how are you? I know we haven't spoken in a while. Things got hectic. My hubby broke his tooth and got an infection. His whole jaw was swollen to the point that he looked like someone punched him. I was so worried I finally made him go to the hospital to get antibiotics and pain killers. It was the weekend so no dentist was in. I have seen this man slice his arm to the bone, dislocate his shoulder, break his toes and never complain. He would pretty much laugh it off. But he was in horrific pain. Once the swelling went down though, he felt much better. So now we have to get to a dentist and have it pulled or capped or whatever.
I started looking through my songs I have on the computer and realized how messed up it would look to an outsider. I have everything. I have opera, classical, country (very little), old rock, 80's(metal and pop), recent rock, rap, comedy, pretty much, you name the genre, I've got it. If anyone ever got on here, they would think it was for different people. I guess I am pretty ecclectic in my tastes. It goes for everything in my life though. Music, movies, interests, reading, everything. I guess I can't be lumped into a category.
How is everything going with you? Wonderful I hope. It is that time of year again. Swimsuit season, yuck. I dread this time of year. You don't know what it is like to try to find a suit that fits a body like mine. My hubby gets upset with me when I say it, but I am not a thin person. Okay, I think I ate the thin person. LOL. I bought a black and white suit one year and had Greenpeace trying to save me. I don't know if I am going to try this year or not. My body isn't the only problem. I am the whitest person you have ever seen. I mean I glow in the dark. My legs come with warnings about being blinded by the reflection from the sun. I do not tan. Really. I burn peel, and go back to looking like I was dipped in bleach. My hubby makes me sick. He is a big part Mohawk and he gets a gorgeous tan. He can look out the window at the sun and poof, instant tan. I get my revenge though. I nicknamed him Chief Running Mouth. LOL. He has one little spot on his arm that doesn't tan, I tell him that is the Irish part of him.
Well, I guess I better go for now, I have to cook supper. Have a great night.

Good very early morning to you. I know I am up way to early. Grab a cup of coffee and have a seat. How was your weekend? The kids had a long weekend. No school yesterday, teacher workday. B was out Friday, and now he is staying home today.
Yesterday he had a small accident. His father was holding a seven pound frozen pork tenderloin, straight from the freezer to defrost for supper, and B thought he was going to put it on him to make him cold. He put his legs up to stop his dad and kicked his father in the stomach. His father lost his grip on the loin, it fell and hit B on the nose. I was terrified that it had broken his nose. We put ice on it and called the doctor. We were told to watch him and make sure that he is breathing fine, which he is, and since it was not bleeding and doesn't look crooked it probably isn't broke. It is swollen though. I feel so bad for him. I am keeping him home today so I can make sure he is okay. The first sign of trouble and straight to the hospital we go. Did you know they can't even really do anything for it though for 1 to 2 weeks after it happens? That shocked me. Something about the swelling and stuff.
B is embarressed he got taken out by frozen meat and says he is going to tell everyone he wrecked his scooter. I guess it sounds more manly. His father fells so badly, he is ready to do anything for B, but he doesn't want anything and says it was an accident. Now that it is all over, it does seem a little funny. B had two helpings of the pork tonight and said that was his revenge for it attacking him. He has a great sense of humor.
S got her information from Cornell on their architech program. She loves it. I saw the tuition fees and about died. She did have a small blondism though. She was looking at one of the brouchers and it has art work on it, then she says, "There are words on here." I know now that she meant interlaced with the art, but I wasn't looking at the picture, so you can see how it sounded. I told her she might not be Cornell material after all, maybe she should look into Burger U or clown college. She gave me that teenager look and gathered up her stuff and told me she was going to her room and listen to music. I saw her smile before she walked out, so she realized what she said, also.
I love my kids so much. They are so much fun to joke around with. For Mother's Day, they and their father made me breakfast, they gave me handmade cards, and even though I said no spending money, they and their grandfather bought me a new office chair. I had been using an old kitchen chair, which isn't easy on the butt, now I get to sit in comfort. I had been wanting one, but I just am a bit of a tightwad and didn't want to spend the money on myself. The cards are hanging on the fridge now, they are beautiful. I do have wonderful babies.
Well, I am going to go for now. I want to write more on my book. I am falling behind on my personal deadline, so I need to kick myself in the butt. You have a great day.
A little note to people out there in OK, I hope you and your families made it through the storms. To the five that were killed, my heart and thoughts go out to the families.

Hi again! How is your morning? Grab a cup of coffee and sit down for a while. B stayed home from school today. He was running a fever last night and said his stomach hurt. I just didn't want to send him to school then have to go pick him up if he got sick. I said I was going to tell you about the Red Green Show.
It is a Canadian comedy show that is so cute. It centers around a place called Possum Lodge. The next town over is Port Abestoes. I don't think there are really any women in the show, but that is a good thing. Shows that women are smart enough not to hang around a place like that. LOL. It is hosted by Red Green with his nephew Harold. Red is one of those old guys that is so unsophisticated, it is pathetic. Harold is just a total geek. Red's solution to any repair is duct tape. If you ever get the chance to watch it, give it a try. You might like it.
I am still typing away on the next book. So far, it sounds okay to me. But then again, I am not a good judge of my own work. I hate everything I write.
I read online last night that scientists have found that people have Neanderthal genes as opposed to that species just died out. I have been saying for years there was still some of the genes in circulation. Have you gone to the local Wal-Mart? Proof positive there. I could have sworn I saw a Bigfoot there one time. The woman didn't like it when I called the zoo, but she really should have shaved her back hair so it wasn't sticking out of her shirt. Anyone could make a mistake. Just kidding.
So how are you and your family doing? Everyone is okay, I hope. Just to post it, today is National Prayer Day. It is not my belief, but I always respect someone else's beliefs, so if you do pray, pray for our country and our citizens. We need all the help we can get.
I guess I better go for now, I have to go slay some monsters and then write some more on the book. You have a great day.

Hi everyone! How are you today? To everyone out there in Tennessee, I hope you are staying as safe as possible and things dry up quickly for you. To everyone out in the Gulf, if you are planning on swimming, take Dawn with you to wash off the oil.
I thought I would write this before I got lost in the video game again. I have gotten to the point of writing during the day and after supper playing my game.
I did get something accomplished today though. I called University of Arizona and Cornell for S, she wanted more information about what she needs to work on to get into Architech school. I am glad she has found something she feels so passionate about. If she wants to go to Cornell, I hope she can get a scholorship. I can't afford Ivy League tuition. LOL. We have a storm blowing in, soo I don't know how much longer I have before I lose internet and electric.
I guess I better get out of here. I will talk to you later. Remind me later to tell you about The red Green Show. It is funny.

Kids and Kidneys
Hi again. How are you tonight? I am good. Sitting here not able to drink anything but water and juices or milk. My kidneys are messing up again, so I have to drink only healthy stuff. I want a soda or a glass of tea! Oh well, I guess I have to take care of myself so I can take care of the kids.
Speaking of kids, M, is reading 30 words now! She seems to be learning so quickly. S brought home a mid-nine week report and is doing very well. I am proud because she let her grades slip, but is now getting back on track. She has decided she wants to be an architech and go to University of Arizona Pheonix. I think that is great. she has a goal in mind and is working toward it.
B is doing well too. He finally outgrew a pair of pants. He is still skinny, but he is growing a little. He can't decide what he wants to be yet. He is thinking about being a police officer, but isn't sure.
I am proud of the fact that my book on public book shelf is one of the most popular this week. I have had 80 votes with a 4.0 out of 5 rating. Thank you to all who have read the book and voted. I do appreciate everyone who has voted. There is another place you can read free romance novels. It is free-romance-novels.com. It is run by Jennifer Armstrong who is a writer. She also links to other writers, so there are many different books there. I better go for now. See you tomorrow. One more thing, I am sending well wishes to Bret Michaels and his family. I wish him a speedy recovery. He was, and is, one of my big crushes. Come back to us soon!!!

Racism stupidity
Good evening. How are you guys tonight? I know it has been a few days since my last post. I got lost in the WOW world, then I took a break from it today to write on my next book. It is going well, and I still am hoping to meet my deadline of mid-May.
If you don't mind, I have to unload for a moment. I am about to explode. In the town next to me, someone spray painted KKK and a swastika symbol on a building frequented by mainly African Americans. People are trying to say it means nothing and is just a prank by a teen. I don't care if it is a prank. It is a hate crime. Period. Now the NAACP is saying it needs to be turned over to SBI and the FBI. Many people are upset and all this has done is raised racial tensions.
America, when are we going to get our heads out of our butts and look beyond the color of a person's skin and see everyone as humans instead of a race? What does the color have to do with anything? We are all human, so why hate for the shade of their skin? It is just ridiculous.
I have taught my kids not to hate people. They can dislike someone, but hate is wrong when it comes to a human being. Why can we not get over this issue? It is everywhere. You fill out a job application, you have to answer the question about your race. I say we stop answering. Just don't tell anyone what race you are.
Plus, hate takes so much time and energy out of you. Who has time for that? Not me. I have better things to do with my time than think of ways to cause pain to someone else.
It is time this crap ends people. It doesn't matter what your color is, what matters is how you live your life. Treat others the way you want to be treated. In other words, be respectful to everyone, no matter if they are black, white, red, green, purple, whatever. Although if you run into anyone of the last two colors...give me a call. That I have to see.
I have had my say. Sorry to unload on you like that. If you disagree, let me know. This is America, everyone can voice their own opinion. You have a great night. I am going to bed now. See you tomorrow, unless I get lost in WOW again. Night night!

World of Warcraft and Birthday Candles
Good afternoon! How is your day? Mine is going pretty well. Hectic as always. Grab a glass of tea and have a seat. I need a break anyway.
Today is B's birthday. 11 years old. Wow, how time flies. We always ask the kids what they want as a meal for their birthday. B wanted turkey, gravy, potatoes, dressing... you know, Thanksgiving dinner. But he didn't tell me until supper last night! There isn't enough time to run get the turkey, cook it all day and have it ready before midnight tonight. So we had to compromise. We are having leftovers tonight, then tomorrow night we will have the turkey. So, I had to run to the store, get all the things needed for the dinner tomorrow night, pick up the cake, buy a gift, and get home and work on my book.
I got everything done, but I forgot the candles! B said he doesn't care about candles, he loves his cake. I feel like the worst Mom in the world for forgetting something as silly as candles.
He is home from school now and doing his Math homework in the living room. We are charging one of his gifts, a remote controlled Ed Hardy Helicopter. His Dad is going to help him trim it. It is something you have to do to new rc helicopters.
I am trying to do the updates for World of Warcraft, I haven't played in 2 years so there are like a million gigs of updates to download for it. I just decided yesterday I wanted to start playing again, so we renew the subscription for both mine and my husband's account. His has already finished the downloads and he is playing. I am still downloading.
I told you yesterday my Dad got B an electric scooter for a gift. While we were out, we picked him up a new Sonic game for the WII and the 30th anniversary edition of Jaws. He loves that movie. We are hoping he likes it. He is really easy about things like that. He isw just happy to get something. He acts like we never get him anything.
Okay, I have to get this off my chest before I explode. I called Sylvan Learning Centers to see about tutoring for S for the EOG's. They charge an arm and a leg. It was about $200 just for testing, then the amount for the actual tutoring. It is an outrage. I felt like they were saying that if you aren't rich, your kid doesn't count. That is so wrong to do. I know they have to charge a fee because they have expenses, but it should not be that much. I think people in different neighborhoods should get together and tutor children as a trade. Like if one person is good at math but not good at Language Arts, then they trade with each other. It will be good for the kids. But that is just my opinion, tell me what you think.
I have to go, I am being buzzed by a helicopter now. Talk to you later.

Good afternoon. How are you doing today? Did you enjoy your weekend? Sorry I wasn't here yesterday. You know how life gets sometimes. I had to go grocery shopping, I ordered my son's birthday cake for tomorrow. He is going to be 11! I can't believe it. His cake is so cute. It has a motorcycle on top and the side are decorated as tailpipes. He pick it out himself. After we got back from that, my Dad wanted me to run with him to Wal-mart because he had an idea of what to get B for his birthday.
We went to Wal-mart and I was thinking that he was going to get him something like a model car or a video game. We went back to where they sold bikes and he decided to get a motorized scooter! It goes like 10mph. I told my husband we should get him a helmet, pads, bubble wrap, a few pillows, you know just a few pieces of safety equipment. LOL.
He told us this morning before school he wanted this new Sonic game for the WII,so I think that is what we are going to get him.
Look at me, how rude, would you like some tea? I am sitting here drinking right in front of you and not even offering you a glass. Sorry. I also have some dessert I made up for tonight. It is bananas cut up and stir in with a strawberry glaze. Put some cool whip on top and it is delicious.
I have been checking on the book I had published on public bookshelf. I have had comments saying that they wish it was longer. I know I should have made it longer, but I got nervous. I was so worried that no one would like it that I psyched my self into hurrying it up and making it shorter. I promise the one I am working on now is longer and better.
Now, that out of the way, what are you doing for supper tonight? I think I am going to make spagetti. My family likes it made with hamburger and italian sausage. It will also mean I don't have to cook tomorrow night. Leftovers!!!
Oh yeah, did you hear that there is one state trying to get a law passed that says anyone who gets on welfare or unemployment has to agree to random drug testing? I think that is cool. Most jobs now require you to be drug tested to get a job, so why not. I don't want my tax dollars to be buying someone's drugs. What is your opinion on this? Leave me a note.
Well, I better get to work. M has destroyed the living room, so I have to get that cleaned up. I will see you tomorrow. Have a great night!

book posted, destination truth, and cryptozoology
I just got the e-mail today that my first book has been posted at public bookshelf. I am so thrilled! I am still working on the next book, and I hope as I write each book, my style improves. Now that I have gotten that out of the way, how are you?
We had a cook-out tonight. My husband cooked burgers, hot dogs, polish sausages, and corn on the cob. It was nice to sit outside and relax while someone else cooked. The kids played around, looking through the spotting scope from my hubby's telescope.
We have some woods out back of the house, and my dad told me the other day not to let the kids play out there. Several of the neighbors have seen a bear going in and out of the woods. I hope sincerely never to see it. I think they are beautiful creatures, but on TV only.
Oh, that reminds me, have you ever seen that show on sci-fi called Destination Truth? You have to see it. It is cryptozoology and paranormal research done by Josh Gates and his team. He not only goes to some fascinating places, but he is so funny. Of course, they never find exactly the animals they were looking for, but they do try.
I know, I am a total nerd, I love cryptozoology. I watch all kinds of shows on it. I just feel we should not rule out finding a species that we thought was either extinct or that we have not seen before.
I am going to sign off for tonight. I am ready to slip into a nice hot bath and relax for a while. Have a great night.

Writing, writing, writing
Good afternoon. How is your day? Mine has been kinda sucky so far. I've got a cold, so I feel horrid, but I have been trying to keep writing on my novel. I wrote a couple of chapters, went back to read them and they made no sense. So I had to erase all that work and try again. I like the way it is shaping up now. I am hoping to have it finished by mid-May, if not sooner.
The youngest, M, is doing so well with her words now. I am really shocked by how much she is learning on the program. I wish I had this when my older two were her age.
The oldest, S, is doing well. She decided that since I am writing books, she wants to. She is doing well, but of course, she doesn't write everyday. I am proud that she is trying though.
My son, B, is the same as ever. I don't think he is ever going to grow. He is such a sweet kid, but he is just tiny. The doctors say he will hit a growth spurt, then we won't be able to keep up with him. I hope it happens soon.
Did you hear that they are cutting funding for public schools in the state again? Almost makes me want to home school the kids. How are they going to be able to learn if the state doesn't pay for teachers or books? I swear, they fall any further back in funding, their history books are going to be teaching about the civil war because that when they were written. It is so stupid, the governor hasn't taken a paycut, but she doesn't mind if our kids suffer. I say, make her live on a teacher's salary for a year, then see how her attitude changes. Oh well. I wish there was something we could do, but the way things are going right now, the polictians in this state aren't listening to us. I am going to stop now before I end up going totally off.
Well, it was nice to see you again. Stop by tomorrow and we can talk some more. I have to get back to the novel and cook supper. Have a good night.

Wow, it has been awhile.
Hello! Wow, when life gets busy you let things go. I haven't posted for some time now. How is life with you? My oldest has her first boyfriend. They talk on the phone and see each other at school. My son will be 11 in 7 days. My youngest is learning to read. We got her that "Your Baby can Read" program and she is picking it up quick. I finished my first book and it is being published as an e-book. That is so exciting. You can read it free @ www.publicbookshelf.com
Also, I started a business selling electronics and other things. If you want to see what I have for sell, you can click here. So I am really sorry about not having written for a while, but I got a little busy.
I am working on my next book now, which I am hoping to get released as a full book as well as an e-book. The first book, "Follow Your Heart" is short, but the next one is going to be a full length novel. Keep checking, I will keep posting about how the book is shaping up.
I am going to sign off for now. I will see you soon.
