Kids and Kidneys

Hi again. How are you tonight? I am good. Sitting here not able to drink anything but water and juices or milk. My kidneys are messing up again, so I have to drink only healthy stuff. I want a soda or a glass of tea! Oh well, I guess I have to take care of myself so I can take care of the kids.
Speaking of kids, M, is reading 30 words now! She seems to be learning so quickly. S brought home a mid-nine week report and is doing very well. I am proud because she let her grades slip, but is now getting back on track. She has decided she wants to be an architech and go to University of Arizona Pheonix. I think that is great. she has a goal in mind and is working toward it.
B is doing well too. He finally outgrew a pair of pants. He is still skinny, but he is growing a little. He can't decide what he wants to be yet. He is thinking about being a police officer, but isn't sure.
I am proud of the fact that my book on public book shelf is one of the most popular this week. I have had 80 votes with a 4.0 out of 5 rating. Thank you to all who have read the book and voted. I do appreciate everyone who has voted. There is another place you can read free romance novels. It is free-romance-novels.com. It is run by Jennifer Armstrong who is a writer. She also links to other writers, so there are many different books there. I better go for now. See you tomorrow. One more thing, I am sending well wishes to Bret Michaels and his family. I wish him a speedy recovery. He was, and is, one of my big crushes. Come back to us soon!!!

Racism stupidity

Good evening. How are you guys tonight? I know it has been a few days since my last post. I got lost in the WOW world, then I took a break from it today to write on my next book. It is going well, and I still am hoping to meet my deadline of mid-May.
If you don't mind, I have to unload for a moment. I am about to explode. In the town next to me, someone spray painted KKK and a swastika symbol on a building frequented by mainly African Americans. People are trying to say it means nothing and is just a prank by a teen. I don't care if it is a prank. It is a hate crime. Period. Now the NAACP is saying it needs to be turned over to SBI and the FBI. Many people are upset and all this has done is raised racial tensions.
America, when are we going to get our heads out of our butts and look beyond the color of a person's skin and see everyone as humans instead of a race? What does the color have to do with anything? We are all human, so why hate for the shade of their skin? It is just ridiculous.
I have taught my kids not to hate people. They can dislike someone, but hate is wrong when it comes to a human being. Why can we not get over this issue? It is everywhere. You fill out a job application, you have to answer the question about your race. I say we stop answering. Just don't tell anyone what race you are.
Plus, hate takes so much time and energy out of you. Who has time for that? Not me. I have better things to do with my time than think of ways to cause pain to someone else.
It is time this crap ends people. It doesn't matter what your color is, what matters is how you live your life. Treat others the way you want to be treated. In other words, be respectful to everyone, no matter if they are black, white, red, green, purple, whatever. Although if you run into anyone of the last two colors...give me a call. That I have to see.
I have had my say. Sorry to unload on you like that. If you disagree, let me know. This is America, everyone can voice their own opinion. You have a great night. I am going to bed now. See you tomorrow, unless I get lost in WOW again. Night night!

World of Warcraft and Birthday Candles

Good afternoon! How is your day? Mine is going pretty well. Hectic as always. Grab a glass of tea and have a seat. I need a break anyway.
Today is B's birthday. 11 years old. Wow, how time flies. We always ask the kids what they want as a meal for their birthday. B wanted turkey, gravy, potatoes, dressing... you know, Thanksgiving dinner. But he didn't tell me until supper last night! There isn't enough time to run get the turkey, cook it all day and have it ready before midnight tonight. So we had to compromise. We are having leftovers tonight, then tomorrow night we will have the turkey. So, I had to run to the store, get all the things needed for the dinner tomorrow night, pick up the cake, buy a gift, and get home and work on my book.
I got everything done, but I forgot the candles! B said he doesn't care about candles, he loves his cake. I feel like the worst Mom in the world for forgetting something as silly as candles.
He is home from school now and doing his Math homework in the living room. We are charging one of his gifts, a remote controlled Ed Hardy Helicopter. His Dad is going to help him trim it. It is something you have to do to new rc helicopters.
I am trying to do the updates for World of Warcraft, I haven't played in 2 years so there are like a million gigs of updates to download for it. I just decided yesterday I wanted to start playing again, so we renew the subscription for both mine and my husband's account. His has already finished the downloads and he is playing. I am still downloading.
I told you yesterday my Dad got B an electric scooter for a gift. While we were out, we picked him up a new Sonic game for the WII and the 30th anniversary edition of Jaws. He loves that movie. We are hoping he likes it. He is really easy about things like that. He isw just happy to get something. He acts like we never get him anything.
Okay, I have to get this off my chest before I explode. I called Sylvan Learning Centers to see about tutoring for S for the EOG's. They charge an arm and a leg. It was about $200 just for testing, then the amount for the actual tutoring. It is an outrage. I felt like they were saying that if you aren't rich, your kid doesn't count. That is so wrong to do. I know they have to charge a fee because they have expenses, but it should not be that much. I think people in different neighborhoods should get together and tutor children as a trade. Like if one person is good at math but not good at Language Arts, then they trade with each other. It will be good for the kids. But that is just my opinion, tell me what you think.
I have to go, I am being buzzed by a helicopter now. Talk to you later.

Good afternoon. How are you doing today? Did you enjoy your weekend? Sorry I wasn't here yesterday. You know how life gets sometimes. I had to go grocery shopping, I ordered my son's birthday cake for tomorrow. He is going to be 11! I can't believe it. His cake is so cute. It has a motorcycle on top and the side are decorated as tailpipes. He pick it out himself. After we got back from that, my Dad wanted me to run with him to Wal-mart because he had an idea of what to get B for his birthday.
We went to Wal-mart and I was thinking that he was going to get him something like a model car or a video game. We went back to where they sold bikes and he decided to get a motorized scooter! It goes like 10mph. I told my husband we should get him a helmet, pads, bubble wrap, a few pillows, you know just a few pieces of safety equipment. LOL.
He told us this morning before school he wanted this new Sonic game for the WII,so I think that is what we are going to get him.
Look at me, how rude, would you like some tea? I am sitting here drinking right in front of you and not even offering you a glass. Sorry. I also have some dessert I made up for tonight. It is bananas cut up and stir in with a strawberry glaze. Put some cool whip on top and it is delicious.
I have been checking on the book I had published on public bookshelf. I have had comments saying that they wish it was longer. I know I should have made it longer, but I got nervous. I was so worried that no one would like it that I psyched my self into hurrying it up and making it shorter. I promise the one I am working on now is longer and better.
Now, that out of the way, what are you doing for supper tonight? I think I am going to make spagetti. My family likes it made with hamburger and italian sausage. It will also mean I don't have to cook tomorrow night. Leftovers!!!
Oh yeah, did you hear that there is one state trying to get a law passed that says anyone who gets on welfare or unemployment has to agree to random drug testing? I think that is cool. Most jobs now require you to be drug tested to get a job, so why not. I don't want my tax dollars to be buying someone's drugs. What is your opinion on this? Leave me a note.
Well, I better get to work. M has destroyed the living room, so I have to get that cleaned up. I will see you tomorrow. Have a great night!

book posted, destination truth, and cryptozoology

I just got the e-mail today that my first book has been posted at public bookshelf. I am so thrilled! I am still working on the next book, and I hope as I write each book, my style improves. Now that I have gotten that out of the way, how are you?
We had a cook-out tonight. My husband cooked burgers, hot dogs, polish sausages, and corn on the cob. It was nice to sit outside and relax while someone else cooked. The kids played around, looking through the spotting scope from my hubby's telescope.
We have some woods out back of the house, and my dad told me the other day not to let the kids play out there. Several of the neighbors have seen a bear going in and out of the woods. I hope sincerely never to see it. I think they are beautiful creatures, but on TV only.
Oh, that reminds me, have you ever seen that show on sci-fi called Destination Truth? You have to see it. It is cryptozoology and paranormal research done by Josh Gates and his team. He not only goes to some fascinating places, but he is so funny. Of course, they never find exactly the animals they were looking for, but they do try.
I know, I am a total nerd, I love cryptozoology. I watch all kinds of shows on it. I just feel we should not rule out finding a species that we thought was either extinct or that we have not seen before.
I am going to sign off for tonight. I am ready to slip into a nice hot bath and relax for a while. Have a great night.

Writing, writing, writing

Good afternoon. How is your day? Mine has been kinda sucky so far. I've got a cold, so I feel horrid, but I have been trying to keep writing on my novel. I wrote a couple of chapters, went back to read them and they made no sense. So I had to erase all that work and try again. I like the way it is shaping up now. I am hoping to have it finished by mid-May, if not sooner.
The youngest, M, is doing so well with her words now. I am really shocked by how much she is learning on the program. I wish I had this when my older two were her age.
The oldest, S, is doing well. She decided that since I am writing books, she wants to. She is doing well, but of course, she doesn't write everyday. I am proud that she is trying though.
My son, B, is the same as ever. I don't think he is ever going to grow. He is such a sweet kid, but he is just tiny. The doctors say he will hit a growth spurt, then we won't be able to keep up with him. I hope it happens soon.
Did you hear that they are cutting funding for public schools in the state again? Almost makes me want to home school the kids. How are they going to be able to learn if the state doesn't pay for teachers or books? I swear, they fall any further back in funding, their history books are going to be teaching about the civil war because that when they were written. It is so stupid, the governor hasn't taken a paycut, but she doesn't mind if our kids suffer. I say, make her live on a teacher's salary for a year, then see how her attitude changes. Oh well. I wish there was something we could do, but the way things are going right now, the polictians in this state aren't listening to us. I am going to stop now before I end up going totally off.
Well, it was nice to see you again. Stop by tomorrow and we can talk some more. I have to get back to the novel and cook supper. Have a good night.

Wow, it has been awhile.

Hello! Wow, when life gets busy you let things go. I haven't posted for some time now. How is life with you? My oldest has her first boyfriend. They talk on the phone and see each other at school. My son will be 11 in 7 days. My youngest is learning to read. We got her that "Your Baby can Read" program and she is picking it up quick. I finished my first book and it is being published as an e-book. That is so exciting. You can read it free @ www.publicbookshelf.com
Also, I started a business selling electronics and other things. If you want to see what I have for sell, you can click here. So I am really sorry about not having written for a while, but I got a little busy.
I am working on my next book now, which I am hoping to get released as a full book as well as an e-book. The first book, "Follow Your Heart" is short, but the next one is going to be a full length novel. Keep checking, I will keep posting about how the book is shaping up.
I am going to sign off for now. I will see you soon.
